Notatable.org was a response to the health insurance industry’s disruption of the 2010 congressional campaign. The idea was to create a service where rather than confront the loudly misinformed Tea Party, normal people could quietly brand their profile photos on twitter and facebook as a way to show their support for meaningful health insurance reform.
The name was taken from Barney Frank's exhausted response during a town hall meeting targeted by Tea Party groups, "Ma'am, trying to have a conversation with you would be like trying to argue with a dining room table. I have no interest in doing it."
The facebook profile photo editor used facebook connect to edit the user’s profile photo and to publish a user-edtable message to their news feed.
The twitter editor placed a mark on the users twitter icon and posts a user-editable tweet.
